After entertaining the idea of moving to the city to start their life as empty nesters, a couple realized it would be difficult to find someplace nearly as perfect as their current address. Instead, they renovated and updated their home to incorporate an urban vibe. For professional help, the couple turned to Pinney Designs after falling in love with her work at a friend's home. An Upper West Side native, the wife wanted to feel a connection to her roots with moody colors and a hint of glam. Emily delivered. Furthermore, a tired family room was turned into a dining room and bar with entertaining in mind and a larger window provided connection to the backyard.
